CTAC is working to create a better understanding of the people, culture and traditions of Tibet as well as the threat that confronts them. Tibet’s culture, steeped in the compassion and non-violence of Buddhism, promotes happiness, peace of mind, respect for others, and concern for the environment. It forms a valuable part of the world’s common heritage. Humanity would be poorer should it be lost.

tibet Please join the effort to safeguard the heritage of Tibet, with its distinctive treasures of language, culture, and Buddhist values.

The current situation urgently demands a multi-faceted approach to care for many thousands living in impoverished exile throughout the Himalayan region, with little access to education in Tibetan, Tibetan medical care, or a chance for basic instruction in Tibetan Buddhism.

Through your kind donations, you will:

  • give rural Tibetan children the chance to attend schools where classes are in Tibetan, their culture is honored, and supervised housing and care are provided
  • train teachers in programs designed to help them transmit Tibetan culture/language to their students
  • provide rural schools rudimentary supplies such as paper and pencils
  • fund programs to educate rural doctors in the skills of traditional Tibetan medicine
  • sponsor yearly camps offering children in a holistic educational experience, including the basics of Tibetan Buddhist thought, language and discussion forums focused on integrating Tibetan ways of life into the contemporary world
  • fund the printing and distribution of books of daily Buddhist prayers
  • offer assistance in locale-specific ways to Tibetans living in exile in the West
  • When you support these programs, you allow Tibetan culture, with its uniquely wise approach to the health of mind, body, spirit and society, to survive. You enable “Tibet” to abide in its children, teachers and doctors, those who will literally carry Tibet’s vital heritage into the future so it can enrich our troubled world.

    Thank you.
