A Morning With the Dalai Lama

On October 10, 2009, The Conservancy for Tibetan Art and Culture hosted The Heart of Change, a special day created through the blessings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama, accomplished spiritual leaders, devoted volunteers, and the kindness of our sponsors and ticket purchasers.
Lodi Gyari Rinpoche, Chairman of CTAC’s Board of Directors, relayed that His Holiness the Dalai Lama was very pleased with this event, especially with the way so many diverse groups, a total of 24 from many lineages and cultures, worked harmoniously to create it.
His Holiness taught in the morning, and addressed the importance of interfaith harmony, respect for all traditions, and the overarching importance of developing wisdom and compassion. His remarks included advice on using the progression of developing a correct view of reality, meditating on it to establish its validity, and putting the results of your conclusions into action with mindfulness and altruistic intent. In the afternoon, a symposium of distinguished teachers and spiritual leaders expanded upon the morning’s remarks, and clarified their relevance to our everyday lives., When the DVD of The Heart of Change becomes available for ordering (approximately January 15, 2010), information will be posted on this site.
We are thrilled to report that more than 4,400 people attended the event. No one who came was turned away. Every person there had the chance for contact with sacred images, the profound wisdom of Tibetan Buddhism and the incomparable, pure and authentic presence of His Holiness the Dalai Lama.
With the help of our generous sponsors, the Conservancy for Tibetan Art and Culture was able to offer a wonderful opportunity for people to hear His Holiness’ message of tolerance and compassion, as well as the chance to listen to Dharma teachers and practitioners representing various Buddhist lineages. It was a privilege for The Conservancy to work with such a rich and diverse group of volunteers, speakers and sponsors in staging the Heart of Change, and we sincerely hope you enjoyed the experience.
The Heart of Change DVD goes on sale on January 15, 2010; please check back.
